Installing ringtones for your HTC doesn’t have to be a daunting task. While this model does come with a number of ringtone choices, you may not feel that any of them are ones you are interested in having for mobile.
If you want to expand your ringtone horizons and use something other than the standard offering for the unit, your first step is to find one that you would like to use. When you are looking for ringtones, it’s a good idea to limit your search to ones which are 30 seconds or less in length and are offered as DRM-free MP3 files.
There are a number of websites offering ringtones to consumers. The type of file should be listed as part of the information provided to consumers. There will be a bigger selection of ringtones offered for a fee than free ones, but you may be able to find a no-cost option that will fit your needs.
Once you have found a ringtone you would like to use, the next step is to check to make sure your microSD card is in the mobile. If it is in the unit, connect the phone to computer with a USB cable.
Next, you will have to go to the root directory of your phone’s memory card. Create a new folder; you may want to call it ringtones and make note of the date. Then copy the ringtones into the folder.
To set one of the MP3 files as a ringtone, simply click on Menu and then Settings from the home screen. Click Sound and Phone Ringtone. Scroll down to the ringtone you would like to use and then click OK to get the ringtone you want.
